Roku works very well with Netflix and Amazon movie downloads. Not fancy, but gets the job done.
This is an incredible device! I like documentaries, older, foreign and small time production movies, I am able to get 100’s of hours of these with Netflix. For more recent movies, Amazon on Demand caters for this. Watch out old fashioned cable TV companies, Playboy says Hulu will be accessible on the Roku player in the not to distant future, then we’ll be able to watch current TV shows with it. I also appreciate the services available with the Roku player, that don’t screen huge amounts of commercials with short segments of TV shows in-between, like regular television companies do.

I have it hooked up to a 50 inch Panasonic TV, and the 720p HD picture output is very good quality. I had it connected wirelessly to a Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router, which on occasions would not keep up with the video stream and had to wait for it to catch up, or it would pause the movie as the current picture quality could no longer be maintained. A cat6 Ethernet cable took care of this, I set the router to give priority to the Roku player, and now I get a stunning uninterupted service. The future of TV is here!
